Nice column in the Denver Post which makes the convincing point that not all scientists, indeed, not all eminent climatologists, believe that global warming is a sure thing.
Whether or not Drs. Bill Gray, Michael Crichton, Bjorn Lomborg, and others are correct in all their criticism is not immediately clear to me, but what is abundantly obvious is that there is something to their critique. There is also a whiff of McCarthyism in the dominant opinion in science and “public opinion” about global warming. And, behind that paranoia is, in my opinion, the same self-loathing of the post-Christian world that has led to other facets of radical environmentalism, rising rates of depression and suicide, and the list goes on and on.
When the people cease to believe in God, as the mysterious quote attributed to GK Chesterton goes, they will believe in anything–especially in something that affirms their lack of hope.
